Big Island Trades ("the Site") is an independently operated directory of local trades and service providers on Hawaii's Big Island. It is currently operated by an individual, not a registered company. The Site is informational — listings and editorial picks reflect our own research, aggregated public information, and community reviews, and are not a guarantee, endorsement, warranty, or certification of any business's work. Always do your own due diligence before hiring anyone.

Editorial content

Any "recommended" or "best of" framing on this Site reflects our own opinion and methodology based on available public information and review signal — it is not a statement of fact about any business, and it can change as more information becomes available.

Submitting a review

By submitting a review, you confirm that:

• It reflects your own genuine experience with the business.
• It does not contain false statements of fact, threats, harassment, discriminatory language, or content that infringes someone else's rights.
• You're not the business owner, a competitor, or otherwise submitting the review in bad faith.

You retain ownership of the text you submit, but grant the Site a license to publish, display, and moderate it as part of the directory.

Moderation & takedown policy

Every review is held for moderation before it appears publicly. We may approve, reject, or remove a review at our discretion if it violates the rules above. We do not rewrite or edit the substance of a review — we only redact things like profanity or personal contact information, or reject it outright.

If you're a reviewer who wants your review corrected or removed, or a business owner who believes a review about you is false or violates these terms, contact us (below) with details. We'll review flagged content and respond directly rather than leaving disputes unresolved.

Prohibited conduct

Don't attempt to manipulate ratings (fake reviews, review swapping, incentivized reviews without disclosure), scrape or republish the Site's content in bulk, or attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the Site.

Disclaimer & limitation of liability

The Site is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We are not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of any listed business's services, or for any dispute between you and a business you found through this Site. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Big Island Trades is not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Site or your dealings with any listed business.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Hawaii.
